Terms and conditions to rent a car

The renter in order to rent a vehicle should:

be at least 23* years old, with a driving license issued at least one year ago.
have a Greek, European (for EU countries) or international (for non EU countries) driving license.
feature a personal credit card or else pay the vehicle warranty amount in cash.

Pickup Vehicles

In order to receive the rental vehicle the renter should adduce the following:

Valid legal driving license.
His or Her personal personal credit card. (Not a DEBIT one)
– third party cards are not accepted, unless there is a legal written authorization.
– n case the renter is not a credit card holder, he can rent a vehicle by paying the warranty amount of the rental car in cash.

During the pickup of the vehicle ,the rental agreement (contract) will be given to the renter and he should check it and sign. The rental agreement, will present all services/insurances provided and any of the additional services/insurances the renter has asked for, with their respective charges.
When the vehicle is being received it is very important for the renter to carefully check the car with the company’s employee and consent to the record of any previous damages. The renter will be required to sign the check in and checkout condition report of the vehicle which is proof for any existing damage on it and will drop off the car based on this report.

Insurance Coverage

GOLDEN RENT vehicles are insured:

- 1. For dealings with third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily injuries up to €1,000,000.00 per victim.
  2. For property damage of third parties (with the exception of the GOLDEN RENT vehicle) up to €1,000,000.00.
  3. Legal coverage.

C.D.W. – TP (Collision Damage Waiver) WITH EXCESS

In any car accident of Golden Rent Car Rentals, or in case of theft, fire or material damage from weather events, the lessee is obliged to participate in the restoration of the damage to the company’s vehicle, in the amount of:

500€ for category B vehicles

500€ for category B1 vehicles

600€ for category C vehicles

600€ for category C1 vehicles

700€ for category C2 vehicles

700€ for category D vehicles

800€ for category D1 vehicles

800€ for category D2 vehicles

900€ for category E vehicles

1000€ for category F vehicles

1200€ for category G vehicles

800€ for category CRG1 vehicles

1200€ for category CRG2 vehicles

1500€ for category CRG3, RCRG3 vehicles

Prices do not include 24% VAT.

In case the renter (car driver) of the Golden Rent’s vehicle is not responsible, he or she is not overcharged (damages caused by weather phenomena are excluded).

N.b. The above insurance does not cover damages caused a) while the driver of the vehicle drives under the influence of alcohol or drugs (toxic substances), b) by breaches of the highway code , in violation of the road Traffic Code (Law:N2696/1999 GG 57 A) ,c)while the rental car is being used by any person not specifically named as driver or additional driver in the rental agreement or in case the renter (customer) fails to provide Golden Rent company with the Police accident or incident report as well as with the Accident care report from the Insurance company that insured the cars of Golden Rent.

MIXED PARTIAL EXCESS INSURANCE

Additional security in case of car scratches (all around the car), crystal breaking or damage on the mirrors. Exempt is the renter of the vehicle from the above contractual participation of repairing the damage of the company’s rental car if he chooses, when signing the rental agreement, to receive the insurance with Full Damage Waiver (F. D. W) and pay additional fee for each rental day as follows:

The amount of 3. 00 euro for category B vehicles

The amount of 4. 00 euro for categories B1 – C – C1 – C2 vehicles

The amount of 5. 00 euro for category D vehicles

The amount of 6. 00 euro for category D1-D2 vehicles

The amount of 7. 00 euro for Category E vehicles

The amount of 8. 00 euro for category F vehicles

The amount of 10. 00 euro for category G vehicles

The amount of 6. 00 euro for category CRG1 vehicles

The amount of 10. 00 euro for category CRG2 vehicles

The amount of 14. 00 euro for category CRG3, RCRG3 vehicles

The aforementioned discharge of the lessee does not include theft or car fire, damage underneath the car, the wheels (tires, rims), burning seats, loss of keys and any loss of car accessory. The above applies for the partial damage waiver insurance (C. D. W) – (TP).

N.b. The above insurance do not cover damages caused a) while the driver of the vehicle drives under the influence of alcohol or drugs (toxic substances), b) by breaches of the highway code , in violation of the road Traffic Code (Law:N2696/1999 GG 57 A) ,c)while the rental car is being used by any person not specifically named as driver or additional driver in the rental agreement or in case the renter (customer) fails to provide Golden Rent company with the Police accident or incident report as well as with the Accident care report from the Insurance company that insured the cars of Golden Rent.

W.U. G. – T.P (Full Extra Insurance) WITH ZERO EXCESS

Additional optional insurance for: car theft-fire , damage to the underneath of the car, wheels, (tires, rims), burning of seats, loss of keys and any loss of car accessory .

The renter is exempt from the above liability , as long as upon signing the rental agreement accepts the Wheels –Underneath & safety Glasses (W.U.G.) additional insurance and incur an additional cost per rental day as follows:

The amount of 6.00 euro for category B vehicles

The amount of 8.00 euro for categories B1,C,C1,C2 vehicles

The amount of 9.00 euro for category D vehicles

The amount of 10.00 euro for category D1-D2 vehicles

The amount of 11.00 euro for category E vehicles

The amount of 13.00 euro for category F vehicles

The amount of 16.00 euro for category G vehicles

The amount of 12.00 euro for category CRG1 vehicles

The amount of 16.00 euro for category CRG2 vehicles

The amount of 20.00 euro for category CRG3, RCRG3 vehicles

N.b. Shipping Insurance Coverage

Shipping insurance coverage, extends all coverages and liability limitations of the rental car policy ( mentioned in the contract), when the rental vehicle is transported by ship. The cost is 25 Euros (price includes 24% VAT) per rental. (Additional notification to Golden Rent Company is required upon receipt of the vehicle).

Transport of the rental vehicle by ship is permitted ONLY if the renter has accepted the Shipping insurance coverage. Otherwise ,the renter is responsible for all damage caused to the rental vehicle during its transport by ship for any reason ,regardless of what insurance coverages and liability limitations he has accepted and paid for, at the beginning of the car rental agreement (contract)

Driving abroad

Driving abroad Greece is forbidden.

Any type of insurance and any excess is invalid if you drive abroad without any permission from Golden Rent.

Charge per Klm

The additional charge per kilometer depends on the vehicle category and is valid for reservation less than three days.

The additional charge goes as follows:

Category Β,B1:	0.10 €/ kilometer
Category C,C1,C2:	0.15 €/ kilometer
Category D,D1,D2:	0.20 €/ kilometer
Category E,CRG1:	0.25 €/kilometer
Category F,CRG2:	0.30 €/ kilometer
Category G,CRG3, RCRG3:	0.35 €/ kilometer

Prices do not include 24% VAT.

Delivery/Return

For delivery or return of the rental car before 7:00 in the morning or after 22:00 in the evening there is an extra charge of 20.00 euro.

For delivery and return of the rental car before 7:00 in the morning and after 22:00 in the evening there is an extra charge of 30.00 euro.

Prices do not include 24% VAT.

System “hired here-leave it there” (One Way)

There is the possibility of delivery and return of the rental car at different stations than these of Golden Rent, by paying an additional cost, specified by Golden Rent company depending on the station you want to deliver or return the rental car.

Snow Chains

Snow chains are provided by the Golden Rent company, FREE OF CHARGE.
At the time of delivery, they must be in the condition in which they were received by the customer, (Packed and in good condition) otherwise there is an additional charge of 30€.

Roadside assistance

Our emergency line operates 24/7 all week: 2310 47 80 80.

Legal Costs

In case of non-payment of wages in the proper manner and at the proper place, in accordance with the terms herein, after the expiration or termination of the contract, the Lessee and the Guarantor have an obligation, independently and jointly and severally each of them, to restore any expense of the Lessor due to the non-performance or improper performance, in which, in the event of legal action on her part, before any judicial or investigative authority , cumulatively includes the net fee of the Lessor’s attorneys: a) an amount of six hundred (600) euros for the sending of an extrajudicial statement of the position of the deadline for performance and/or restoration of damages to the vehicle which are presumed to be due to the lessee, who bears illegitimate objective liability for this, and b) seven hundred and fifty (750) euros for the submission of a summons and the same amount for each additional procedural act to claim the amounts owed by the lessee above, as well as any fee or tax or levy amount that may be paid by the Lessor for the purpose that all of the above amounts can only be sought by the Lessee with the corresponding documents and proof of their payment by the Lessor, in conjunction with this contract, by the Lessee by issuing a payment order, national or European accordingly, at the expense of him.

After the end or interruption of the lease period, the Lessee must return the cars to the Lessor in the same good condition as he received them, and is obliged to return them to one of the Lessor’s facilities. In the event that parts or spare parts are missing upon delivery or the car has been damaged beyond normal use, the Lessee, who is presumptively liable due to wrongful strict liability, is obliged to pay the Lessor the cost of replacement or repair on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the relevant partner of the Lessor, a damage assessment report, accompanied by a corresponding document from a workshop partnering with the Lessor, where only the repair can be carried out. The claim of the Lessor due to this is paid in whole or in part with the forfeiture in its favor of a corresponding amount from each guarantee given by the Lessee, unless the relevant claim of the Lessor exceeds the amount of the guarantee given, in which case the excess amount attributable to the Lessor may only with the above estimate report, the corresponding document and the evidence of its payment by the Lessor, in conjunction with this contract, to be sought judicially by the Lessee with the issuance of a payment order, national or European accordingly, against him.

Folder accident cost

The renter is charged with the amount of 15.00 € in case of an accident he or she is responsible for. This amount is non-refundable.

Infringement administration fee

The renter is liable for the payment of fines that may arise from breaches of the highway code ( Road Traffic Laws) during car rental. In case it hasn’t been paid by the renter and there is need for Golden Rent company mediation for payment, there will be a charge of 20.00 € beyond the cost of infringement (Infringement administration fee).

Prices do not include 24% VAT.

Key loss or corruption

In case of keys loss or destruction of a key during the rental period, the renter must pay the following amounts accordingly:

80,00€ – 200,00€ for categories B, B1, C, C1, C2

100,00€ – 250,00€ for categories D, D1, D2, E

200,00€ – 350,00€ for categories F, G, CRG1, CRG2, CGR3, RCRG3

Prices do not include 24% VAT.

License plates removal

In the case of removal of the license plates and returning the vehicle to GOLDEN RENT without them, the lessee pays compensation for the use of the car for the entire period of removal of the plates according to the number of days you specify from the traffic certificate form. The compensation amount will be calculated based on the daily rent multiplied by the total number of the days until the date of return of the license plates. No insurance exempts the renter from the above charge.

Car interior

In case the vehicle is returned with stains that require special cleaning (e.g. fur, sand etc. on the seats , on the floor or in the trunk etc), the renter will be charged with the amount of 80.00 €.
Prices do not include 24% VAT.

Fuel

It’s renter’s obligation to refuel the vehicle at the same fuel level upon picking up the car.

Car rental extention

If the renter wishes to keep the rental vehicle longer than the period that has already been agreed, he/she should contact Golden Rent company 2 days before the expiry of the lease ,in order for the extension of the rental to be noted to the contract.

Car replacement

Car replacement after accident or mechanical failure, can be done upon request with Golden Rent , within 48 hours for the period between 14/9 and 14/6 and within 72 hours for the period between 15/6 and 14/9.

Driving abroad

Driving abroad is forbidden. You cannot rent a car in Greece for a trip abroad, only with the written permission of our company and and with the corresponding payment of the amount determined by the company.

Cancellation of reservation

In case you wish to cancel your reservation you are not charged at any cost. The cancellation of the reservation is made either through our website www.goldenrent.gr or by calling the phone numbers listed on our website.

Early return of vehicle

In case, the vehicle is returned before the indicated date mentioned in the rental contract, there will be no refund. There will be a credit balance, which will be considered accordingly, where the customer will be able to use to a future cooperation with our rental company. The confirmation of the credit balance will be certified by our corporate mail.

Online booking

Any reservation made via the Golden Rent website is valid only when confirmed by email from Golden Rent.

Golden Rent, upon confirmation of a reservation through the website, informs about all relevant procedures in order for the reservation to be valid. The reservation is valid only when all the procedures specified in the booking confirmation message are completed.

Possible requests for changes to an already confirmed reservation must be made by email or via the online booking system of the website, if available.

Any changes are valid only if they are confirmed by Golden Rent.

All bookings made through our website are governed by the same terms of use, which govern all bookings, as they are expressly mentioned above.

Credit card – Cash

All credit-debit cards are acceptable except for American Express (credit or debit card).

In case of a cash payment option it is necessary to pay a deposit (in cash) or if you are owner of a credit card the full credit card number is noted in the contract, from which you do not commit any amount unless the tenant-driver of the rental Golden Rent vehicle , violates the terms of agreement listed in the contract.
