We offer completely free cancellation. As we operate a Pay on Delivery policy with no advance payment, there is no financial cost or hidden charge in the event of a cancellation.

Yes. At Golden Rent we accept cash or a debit card for both payment and the security deposit, in Thessaloniki, Kavala and Alexandroupoli. The deposit is returned immediately and in full on vehicle return, provided the car is brought back in its original condition.

Greek and European licences are recognised automatically. Non-EU drivers require an International Driving Permit (IDP) accompanied by their national licence. Drivers with a licence in a non-Latin alphabet (Chinese, Russian, Japanese) must carry an IDP. This applies at all our stations: Thessaloniki (SKG), Kavala (KVA) and Alexandroupoli (AXD).

The driver must present: (1) A valid driving licence (Greek, European or International), (2) A valid passport or national ID card, (3) A payment method for the security deposit (cash if no credit card is used).

For drivers aged 19–22 and over 72, a Young/Senior Driver Fee of €5 per day applies. This does NOT affect CDW cover — all authorised drivers are fully covered regardless of age.

CDW limits the driver’s liability for vehicle damage to a specific excess amount, depending on the vehicle category. It also includes TP (theft protection) and 24/7 roadside assistance (RSA) — all within the price.

Every car rental in Thessaloniki, Kavala or Alexandroupoli includes:

• (1) CDW — comprehensive insurance for vehicle damage with a defined excess per vehicle category,
• (2) TP (Theft Protection) — protection against theft,
• (3) RSA — 24/7 roadside assistance,
• (4) Third Party Liability — liability insurance towards third parties.

Steps: (1) Ensure everyone’s safety. (2) Call Golden Rent’s 24-hour number immediately: 2310 478080 and the Accident Assistance service. (3) In an accident involving a third party: call the police (100) and request a traffic accident report. (4) Complete a European Accident Statement. (5) Take photographs of the damage and the scene and send them to us by email.

CDW does not apply in cases of: driving under the influence of alcohol or substances, violation of traffic regulations, off-road driving, damage to tyres/rims/undercarriage/roof (unless a specific extension is taken), driving by an unauthorised driver, or failure to notify the company immediately after an accident.

Yes, to Bulgaria. Requirements: (1) Prior written authorisation from Golden Rent, (2) Issue of a Green Card (Cross-Border Insurance). Without these, the vehicle is not covered outside Greece. Please contact us well in advance of your trip.

Yes. Every car rental booking in Thessaloniki includes a free 2nd, 3rd and 4th driver. The additional driver must be present at pick-up, present a valid licence and ID/passport, and sign the rental agreement.

We provide: (a) Infant seat: 0–13 kg up to ~18 months, (b) Baby seat: 9–18 kg / 9 months – 4 years, (c) Booster seat: 15–36 kg / 4–12 years. All seats meet European standards ECE R44 / i-Size (R129).

Traffic fines (parking, speeding, etc.) are the driver’s sole responsibility. If a fine is charged to our company, it will be passed on to the customer along with an administration fee.

We operate a Same to Same policy: you collect the car with however much fuel it has and return it with the same amount. A simple, fair policy — you pay only for what you use, with no hidden fuel charges.

Bookings of 1–2 days: 200 free kilometres per day; each additional kilometre is charged according to the rate card. With FDW or WUG insurance, unlimited mileage is included even on 1–2 day bookings — regardless of destination in Northern Greece.

We accept young drivers aged 19–22 and drivers over 72, with a daily Young/Senior Driver Fee of €5. For drivers aged 23–72, no age surcharge applies.
